lastminute.com is looking for a FinOps Specialist working as part of DevOps teams with certified experience for our Technology department based in 
Chiasso/Poland and Spain.
Your mission in this role will be to work in tandem with our Finance team to enable accurate reporting and informed decision making in the financial domain. You will be diving deep into our costs and billing as well as identifying and implementing process automation.
 
As part of this role, you will be responsible for defining and maturing FinOps through Inform, Optimize and Operate phases.

As part of the FinOps Specialist, you'll also be responsible for leading cultural change for cloud consumption, by working closely with Product Engineering teams and the finance Department assisting them with effectively hosting infrastructure in a cloud environment.

You will drive the Cost Optimization, Capacity Planning and Budget studies working with the Platform Engineering manager and finance.
Additionally, you’ll be responsible for planning, tracking and optimizing our public cloud and datacenter investments and consumption of the whole lastminute.com.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide and establish Cloud and Datacenter consumption best practices to projects teams; 
  • Develop a chargeback/showback process for Cloud and On-premises 
  • Contribute to improve cost optimization and investment process using reserved instances and savings plans working toward with Platform Engineering Manager and finance Department
  • Provide IT management with cost reports and KPIs
  • Analyze our past, current and forecasted consumption and provide optimization plans through automation
  • Take part in Project Architecture reviews in order to optimize their costs
  • Gather requirements and assist internal customers to express their needs and forecast their cloud usage
  • Help the Developers and DevOps and SREs teams to allocate costs properly, use query and data modeling tools, create data visualizations, interactive dashboards and support ad hoc reporting and scorecards.
  • Actively contribute to define common processes  as part of Cloud governance, new technologies adoption, cost management and optimisation
  • Support teams on SLI/SLO/SLA definition and related implementation
  • Collaborate closely with  cross department function from Finance and Technology

Qualifications

Essential

  • +2 years experience as FinOps specialist 
  • requires a mix of technical and financial skills, motivated to learn both the two sides
  • Strong Experience working with AWS 
  • Experience with cloud-native tools like AWS Cost Explorer or third-party cost tools  (Cloudability Apptio, Kube Cost etc.)
  • Experience querying AWS CUR via Athena and/or Redshift
  • Experience in budgeting/forecasting
  • Experience in chargeback/show back processes implementation
  • Experience in Data analysis
  • Ability to effectively collaborate across organizational boundaries
  • Have good interpersonal communication skills and oral and written comprehension of English
  • Good understanding of configuration management tools like Ansible and IAC tools (Terraform) and their best practices

Desirable

  • Experience with Agile methodologies/DevOps environment
  • Good understanding of hybrid cloud architecture
  • Experience in the programming language Java
  • knowledge on  Continuous delivery and deployment tools like GitlabCI, Spinnaker or similar (CircleCI / GoCD / Github Actions …)
  • Experience on Google Cloud Platform
