Job Description

lastminute.com is looking for Business Controllers within the Business Performance Management team now part of the Corporate Development, Strategic Planning & Control and Investor Relations department.

Finance is all about numbers…unless you are part of the Business Performance Management team in lastminute.com; it’s knowing the numbers plus what is behind in terms of key business drivers... Enthusiasm and energy help us look at them from various perspectives while delivering solutions.

Our aim is to analyse, troubleshoot, evaluate and publish in-depth analyses to ensure we have the most up to date and reliable information to help the team to make the best possible decisions. You will be involved in evolving the team’s practices, constantly looking for improvements in analysing and understanding data and reporting.

Main Responsibilities

Working as part of a team, as business controller, you will:

  • Monitor daily, weekly and monthly business performance and trends of the OTA and of its categories, products and markets through the relevant KPIs

  • Provide Analysis reports on business and financial performance for regular leadership reviews

  • Work closely with the OTA growth team and the key functions of the company in order to support the business decision making process

  • Support the budgeting and forecast process and evaluate the performance by comparing actual results with budget and forecast

Qualifications

Essential skills

  • 5 years of working experience in a similar role or in a Big Four firm or in a similar or bigger size corporation in the Business Planning and Control area

  • Analytical skills

  • Degree in Economics/AFC/management engineer

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • Strong MS Office skills in Excel, PowerPoint & Word

Nice to have

  • Technical experience to analyse complex datasets

  • Cross- cultural sensitivity, self-motivated and used to working in a dynamic and fast paced environment

  • Flexibility of working practises and availability during peaks to meet business demands

  • Team oriented, collaborative, humble and eager to learn and grow

  • Proactive approach and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and balance priorities
