Job Description

The lastminute.com Product team is looking for a new colleague! Our product vision is to “build products people love and serve the business”. So as a Product Owner/Manager, you love to create great customer experiences. You are skilled at understanding the Why, the How and the What of building products to deliver impact.

Experience is definitely important, but we’re looking for a person with the right mindset: proactive, motivated, passionate about creating amazing user experiences, obsessed with data, friendly, team player and an honest and fun person to be around with. 

You will be responsible for one of the core areas of our online users journey, our Bundled travel online shopping and booking platform experience. Working with several highly motivated and skilled cross functional teams and business/market unit to consolidate our different user experiences while continuously innovating by leveraging one of our core products. 

 

As a Product Manager, you:

  • Try to understand the “why” behind our customers` problems and define strategy and product objectives for the responsible area and beyond
  • See your work through the traveller’s eyes, creating solutions for the customer journey, thinking beyond its parts
  • Are very strong in delivering an amazing user experience together with your cross-functional team
  • Work incredibly hard to keep things incredibly simple
  • Use lean approaches to break down big ideas into valuable pieces to deliver at fast pace
  • Are obsessed with data and skillful in collecting, interpreting and translating data into actionable insights to support product and business decisions (incl. A/B testing, User Testing, Analytics, Market Research, Competitor Analysis, Defining Metrics and KPIs)
  • Have an entrepreneurial mindset with a flexible, can-do attitude
  • Want to deliver impact, able to influence product management and engineering teams
  • Experience working with agile teams and aligning with stakeholders to deliver with fast time-to-market, quality and ownership
  • Have strong communication skills to navigate a dynamic organisation across multiple countries and cultures
  • Are highly proficient in spoken and written English (we are an international team).
  • Full German language working proficiency.
  • Experience on German travel market (OTA, Tour operator).

Qualifications

You’d be a great fit if: 

  • You have 5+ years professional experience in an agile B2B digital/e-commerce business environment as a product person. Experience in travel industry, especially in Tour Operators (TO) prebundled products distribution is a huge plus. 
  • You have a proven track record in leading product iterations on acquisition, activation, discovery, engagement and checkout in a cross functional environment.
  • You are strong insteering other Product Owners from a functional and leadership role
  • You are tech literate and can lead conversations with software engineers effectively both in discovery and delivery phases
  • You ​​have supported the creation of efficient user experience design flow in different markets
  • You have command of data around you products, through which you created global B2C successful iterations
  • You have steered your products to success as defined by KPIs set within stakeholders from all relevant departments in your company
  • You have contributed to the definition of your product strategy reflecting business goals. 
  • You have knowledge of state-of-the-art product management methods including product discovery, design thinking and product delivery methods and proven record of implementing/utilising them in your daily work.
  • You have experience in data science techniques, statistics, analysis and visualisation of data is always nice to have.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage Prepackaged travel products Online shopping, booking and post-booking experience (Tour operators product online distribution) for our direct clients as well as B2B partners. 
  • Close cooperation with business unit on delivering product increments supporting our business strategy and goals. 
  • Manage and support the development team in their daily tasks. Lead development process. Manage product backlog.
  • Strategizing and presenting ideas/solutions/insights to stakeholders.
  • Define product features, plan and develop bigger increments, own and be responsible for product roadmap.
  • Act as the main point of contact for any matter related to the product.
  • Assist the scrum/product development team to meet the goals of each sprint.
  • Maintain and further streamline analytical toolkit cooperating with BI team.
  • Lead relations with inventory and services suppliers powering the product, be an intermediary between external service providers and development/business team.
