Job Description

The Role 

The purpose of this role is to account manage hotel supply, to drive relationships to achieve profitable sales and hit targets. The ideal candidate will be a relationship-powerhouse, an excellent communicator, and have the ability to negotiate naturally.

In addition, the candidate should be motivated by having clear financial targets and must enjoy contributing to the culture of a small, fun, dynamic team.

This role requires an individual whose dual skill-set could paint the following picture (preferably in magenta colours!):

An Administrative powerhouse - The ideal candidate will be someone who can keep on top of multiple work-flows, can analyse data from numerous reporting sources and who maintains attention to detail under pressure. This role has little administrative support – the successful candidate will not only make the decisions, but will act upon them as well. There is a significant use of various internal systems and an aptitude for learning multiple systems is a must,

A Relationship-master-builder  – an excellent communicator who can ensure have enduring alliances and friendships in the trade; happy to spend plenty of time out of the office or on the phone making a personal difference- the successful candidate will be able to negotiate naturally at all levels.

A Deal-Maker extraordinaire  – an ability to source the exclusive supply required by our customers often against difficult market conditions.

Main responsibilities include

  • Responsible for all elements of ongoing account management and developing excellent relationships.
  •  Contracting new hotels and expanding/exploring new potential hotels & markets.
  •  Secure the best commercial terms with hotels.
  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to maximise benefit for all sales channels.  (Hotel-only, dynamic-packaging, with flight products and Top Secret hotel program).
  • Negotiate the strongest package supply to be sold with our airline offers.
  • Negotiate exclusive deals to meet requirements from merchandising and marketing teams.
  • Ensure sufficient availability of hotel rooms to meet demand.
  • Identify promotional opportunities within region (both destination and supplier led).
  • Track and monitor competitive performance in terms of rate and availability.
  • Attend relevant trade events; visit suppliers on a regular basis; arrange and host supplier appreciation events.


Skills & Experience

  • Experience/knowledge of New York market.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in online travel agency, hotel or industry related role.
  • A history of account management and the ability to promote long-term, mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Travel industry contacts within New York hospitality sector.
  • Commercial Acumen and an analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to present to large groups.
  • Good working knowledge of all Microsoft office and PC applications.
  • Aptitude to learn new systems quickly.
  • University degree level of education.
