Job Description

We are looking for a Finance Manager for the Accountancy team based in Chiasso. 

The person, reporting to the Group Accounting Manager, will have the responsibility of managing the financial closing of Swiss, Italian, UK entities together with the Dutch parent company ensuring the compliance to accounting and tax requirements. The finance manager will be located in the Headquarters of the Group and he/she will be a reference point for the administration and other related topics. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordination of  the local accountancy team composed by 10 people

  • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the companies, such as payroll, invoicing and other transactions for 15 entities including the main operating companies of the Group.

  • Develop and maintain a documented system of procedures to ensure efficient operation of systems, processes and controls and accuracy of financial reporting.

  • Preparation of the Statutory financial statements of the Swiss, Italian, UK Dutch companies for a total of 15 entities and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

  • Relationship with external auditors regarding Reporting and Statutory Financial Statements.

  • Relationship with other departments (IN/OUT AFC) for accounting implications of new initiatives/processes/products.

  • Provide monthly IFRS reporting package closing for group consolidation purposes.

  • Coordination of  local tax and statutory consultants.

  • Preparation and delivery of the periodic tax declarations (corporate income tax, VAT, Withholding Tax) for Switzerland, Italian, UK  entities.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting/Business or similar

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in similar positions

  • Proficiency in English and Italian along with excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Good knowledge of international accounting principles (IFRS) and general adopted accounting principles

  • Preparation and the delivery of the periodic tax declarations (corporate income tax, VAT, Withholding Tax) and ensure general tax compliance for all the 15 entities

  • Experience in managing tasks and assignments in connection to external and internal auditors

  • Perform any special projects and analyses as directed by the Group Accounting Manager and the Administration Director

Desirable

  • Previous experience of audit background gained in one of a Big-4 for at least 3 years

  • Previous experience in the Travel industry

  • Advanced level of Microsoft Excel skills including lookups, pivots, macros and modelling

  • Knowledge of Tagetik reporting tool

  • French or German as a third language will be considered a plus

  • Willing to travel to the other local offices when requested
