Job Description

We are a core technology company building and evolving our own scalable and resilient platforms to support our ever-growing number of customers. As a member of the lastminute.com product engineering team, you’ll be heavily involved in our mission of simplifying our travelers’ life, ensuring quality across all aspects of the platform. As Front End Engineer you will be working as part of a forward-thinking team, continuously collaborating  with talented and experienced UX/UI designers and backend developers

Key Responsibilities

  • Researching, designing, writing and testing new web applications using Agile software methodologies
  • Contribute to the improvement of our infrastructure, focusing on continuous integration, continuous delivery and monitoring
  • Contribute to the R&D of the company stack, proposing effective solutions
  • Constantly updating technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and/or external courses
  • Interact with all stakeholders bringing our product to the next level
  • Problem-solving and lateral thinking as part of a team, or individually, to meet the project needs

Qualifications

Essential

  • + 4 years of experience in Web Applications using Javascript and some of its most common libraries/frameworks (ReactJS, Typescript, ES6, Webpack, etc.) and Web standards, CSS and HTML best practices.
  • Interest in XP practices (pair programming, TDD, simple design, ...etc)
  • Problem-solving capabilities
  • Positive and collaborative attitude
  • Willingness to work inside a team
  • Curiosity and passion for continuous improvement
  • Fluent in English

Hiring Process

Candidates for this position can generally expect a hiring process similar to the following one (please consider that based on location and availability the process can be slightly modified)

  • Qualified candidates receive feedback concerning their application from our Recruiting team
  • Based on role and experience, candidate might be requested to solve a coding exercise to submit on a public repository on Github. Exercise will be assessed by our internal Engineering team
  • Onsite Coding -Technical interview: a coding exercise to solve together pairing with our Engineering team in your favourite programming language, plus a  talk about technical stuffs, experiences and analyzing possible production scenarios
