Job Description

As a senior software engineer at lastminute.com, you will work in our Product Engineering team and directly impact the lives of a global population of travellers. You will be involved in building, developing and maintaining our own scalable and resilient platforms to support an ever-growing number of customers. You’ll experience working in a company with a “growing-sharing culture” with a lot of opportunities to improve existing products and bring new ideas to life.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Coding new features, fixing bugs and optimising code
  • Analysing performance metrics and logs
  • Updating technical wiki and storybook
  • Collaborating with designers, testers, product owners  and other developers
  • Evolving and maintaining our websites

Skills and Essential Experience

  • JavaScript, TypeScript, Jest
  • Modern Frontend frameworks and libraries
  • State management, API Driven Development
  • Responsive design, CSS-in-JS
  • Browsers and DevTools
  • Node.js and NPM
  • Browser, Server and CDN Caching Techniques
  • Working with multiple git branches, merging
  • Performance optimisations
  • Story splitting, Technical reviews
  • Communicative level of English
